The key difference between a Live and a Demo account is that Live accounts allow you to trade with real money and potentially generate real profits, while Demo accounts use virtual money, so any profits are also virtual.

Besides that, all trading conditions – including access to real-time spreads, trading products (excluding Shares CFDs) and execution speeds – are the same for both Demo and Live accounts. This is so that Demo accounts can be used to practice in preparation for live trading.

Please note: Price slippage is not a feature of the demo trading environment, and this should be taken into consideration when testing strategies.
